J-O-B-S Jobs, Bitches!!! News: The American economy kept creating jobs at a brisk pace in February, providing more evidence that the labor market is firming up despite higher gas prices and an unsettled global economy. The Labor Department said Friday that employers added 227,000 jobs last month, slightly more than what most economists were expecting. The nation’s jobless rate remained at 8.3% in February after falling for five straight months. Read more here.

We Need Justice For Trayvon News: Trayvon Martin traveled to Sanford on a trip with his father. The teen returned to his Miami home in a body bag. Martin, 17, was shot and killed Feb. 26 by a neighborhood crime watch captain. The circumstances of the shooting are still unknown, but the 26-year-old man who shot Martin, George Zimmerman, gave a statement to police that he shot in self-defense. Read more here.

I’ll Drink To That News: A new study offers good news for women who unwind with a cocktail at the end of the day: light to moderate drinking is associated with lower stroke risk. Read more here.

Time To “Spring Foward” News: The beginning of daylight time brings more than just one less hour of sleep. Studies show that the time change can affect everything from heart health to depression, and even road collision rates. A 2008 Swedish study found that the risk of heart attack increases in the days following the spring forward. Scientists who study sleep say most North Americans don’t sleep enough anyway, and that losing an hour just adds to our overall “sleep debt.” Read more here.
