Former Virginia governor L. Doug Wilder has never missed an opportunity to publicly criticize President Obama, but this week he took his hateration of all things PBO to stratospheric levels, and this could explain why:

RICHMOND, Va. —The U.S. National Slavery Museum in Fredericksburg is out of bankruptcy.
The case was dismissed today by Chief Judge Douglas O. Tice Jr. the federal bankruptcy court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
An anonymous donor has agreed to directly pay a real estate tax lien by the City of Fredericksburg, according to the dismissal motion filed with the court. A payment arrangement with the Pei Partnership for architect’s fees had been worked out as part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy case, according to the filing.
The museum had filed for bankruptcy Sept. 21, 2011, to stop a tax sale of its land for payment of delinquent real estate taxes of approximately $250,000.
The museum has been a goal of L. Douglas Wilder, a former Richmond mayor, since he went to Africa in the 1990s as Virginia governor.
Hmm…After going on a President Obama bashing spree on national tv, some “anonymous donor” decides to pay Wilder’s tax bill? Looks like Gov. Wilder may have hired himself out to the Republicans in order to save his museum (which looks like it was a shady deal from the get go, but that’s another story).
Or, maybe someone from the Romney campaign footed the bill?
Word in the right wing nut blogosphere is that Gov. Wilder showed up at a Romney fundraiser at the Marriott in Richmond, VA Thursday night, but Buzzfeed’s Zeke Miller tweeted that Wilder showed up by accident:

But there’s a problem with this explanation: Gov. McDonnell’s education summit was held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, not a hotel.
Here’s an aerial view of the Richmond Marriott (circled in red) and the Greater Richmond Convention Center (circled in blue):
You mean to tell me that Wilder, who knows Richmond like the back of his hand, didn’t know the difference between the big ass convention center and the Marriott???
This whole thing reeks and Gov. Wilder has some explaining to do:
Who is the anonymous donor?
When did Wilder find out about the anonymous donor?
Did Wilder promise anything in return for the $250,000 anonymous donation? If so, what?
Who’s involved with the reorganization of the museum?
Part of the reorganization includes a proposal to sell half of the 38 acres of land donated to the museum. Who is interested in buying the land?
Did he make a deal with his new BFF Ken Cuccinelli?
And finally, why did he attend Romney’s fundraiser?
Inquiring minds want to know.
