For the week Jan 22 – Jan 28
Now THAT’S how you do the damn thang! Thanks Rickey!
Alright…on to the comments!
The “We’re Sorry, You Do Not Meet The Requirements For Graduation” Comment of the Week
No Bitter Boyce, you have failed miserably with bullshit like this.
This just goes to show you, you can get all the degrees, accolades, book deals, news columns, paid speaking gigs and etc, but if you are as shallow as the statement Bitter Boyce made, you are only as good as you sound on paper. He actually let someone record him saying that mess…how embarassing.
Isn’t it funny how Bitter Boyce, Tavis the Travesty, and Corny have all the solutions in the world for the poor and Black but have not managed to attend a congressional hearing, testified on behalf of thepoor and held a contest on who can say “”poverty and “poor” the most while on CAPITOL HILL.
How come all of their advice, solutions, and antidotes only comes in the form of a paid speaking gig or book deal?

IMO they don’t know anything about effective negotiations or the fact that like the attorney profiled here, some of the best negotiators are not people who scream, stomp their feet, act a damn fool, and try to bully everyone in the room: they are the most prepared, and they are the people who are most able to persuade others to see reason. The nutroots is very childish and needs drama in place of effectiveness. If there’s a settlement coming down the pike which will keep more people in their homes or deliver more money into the hands of foreclosed homeowners at the expense of drawn out litigation (and which is fair to those homeowners), that may be a reasonable outcome. Either way, throwing a hissyfit before details even emerge is just ridiculous, and like so many other people, I’m tired of it. This is why I read deaniac and not a bunch of these other hair on fire people (who have been wrong about everything from “catfood commission” to “tax cut sellout” to “debt ceiling sellout”–consistently wrong).
“From One Jedi Master To Another” Comment of the Week
What the fuck ? You do a story about black Hollywood but quote some unnamed person in the Congressional black Caucus and some dated fuck who boasted that Clinton was blacker than Obama?I love Samuel Jackson’s quote, though:
“The president got about a week of moderate applause for capturing the most-wanted man in the world. You ask me, he should have put that motherfucker on ice and defrosted his ass Nov. 1.”
West, Watts, and the UNTT (United Negro Tokens and Toms) are going to continue to be the token cheerleaders but yet bemoan why their white, Southern strategist brethren won’t show up to their gatherings. What bothers me is CBC Chairman Rep. Cleaver and his statements. It is very interesting that Cleaver does not want to be “mad” at West, even though he has voted and attributed to the complete obstructionism of every bit of legislation intended to help the poor and middle class since being elected.
Yet when PBO has to negotiate with the Republicans as Democrats like Cleaver lay feeble…Cleaver as a pastor himself is quick to denounce the President as delivering a “satan sandwich” of a deal last summer.
Uh huh. Sit back and listen to these folks and you’ll find out they are indeed strange bedfellows in a lot more ways than we think.
ETA: The more I think about what Rep Cleaver said, the more i get mad.
“Because I have some differences with him on political matters? I’d rather work with him to make sure we cover all our bases. We ought to have Republicans who are black.”
Rep. Cleaver is one of a long line of Democrats and a large swath of the Black Clintonite class of politicos (who make up a majority of the CBC) who will always be lukewarm to PBO because of who he is, not what he does.
Here we have Rep Cleaver saying it is important to have Black republicans like West so they “we” can cover our bases?
our bases?
What bases does a Black Democrat like Cleaver have with West, a token Black who rode in full force on the Tea Party express have in common? A Tea Party whose entire purpose is to win back the WH and Congressional seats because policy wise they have no solutions.
Yet famously, Cleaver said that if Obama wasn’t President (and Black), the CBC would be marching to the White House because of uemployment, etc. ( they are restrained you see….and need to be unleashed, thanks to Maxine Waters)
Of course Newt Gingrich says Blacks should demand jobs, instead of food stamps……and West stood in support and said Gingrich was right……But Cleaver can’t be mad that West feels and says these things……wow, see how this circle goes.
Damn, we need Harriet Tubman to come back from the dead. Just Sayin’
