Welcome to the Weekend POU!
Feast Of All Saints is a historical novel by author and New Orleans native Anne Rice. The plot centers on the gens de couleur libres, or free people of color, who lived in New Orleans before the Civil War and in particular, the placage system and its effect on the children born from this institution.
In 2001, a miniseries of the same name premiered on Showtime starring Jennifer Beals, Gloria Reuben, Ruby Dee, Ossie Davis and more.
The entire movie is not available on youtube, but there were 10 clips that provide a pretty good summary from the beginning to the end and is focused on the placage system. The clips should play in succession and you can get the gist of the story in 30 minutes. Enjoy!
