The Brooklyn-based five-member vocal ensemble Livre’ make an exuberant brand of contemporary gospel. Named after the Portuguese word for “free,” Livre’ feature the talents of Ajanee Hambrick, Ariel Malloy, Malik Spence, Kenneth Williams, and Richard Tolbert. Originally, the group came together to perform at the 28th anniversary Bronx Mass Choir reunion. During that performance they were discovered by vocalist Alicia Keys and her manager, Jeff Robinson, who quickly signed the group to their Glory2Glory Records/PRODIGY Entertainment Group.
Several singles followed, including “Amazing,” which hit the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot Gospel Radio chart, and “I Will Be Alright,” which landed in the Top 20.
The Brooklyn-based quintet represents the next generation of contemporary gospel. Just this year they clinched the no. 1 Billboard gospel album spot with their debut project, Jericho: Tribe of Joshua. The album features collaborations with A$AP Ferg and Jason Nelson and has had instant radio success.
This group has something for everyone, from powerful voices to heartfelt worshippers. For those who doubt the authenticity of young worship, Ajanee, Ariel, Malik, Kenneth and Richard are taking gospel to another level.
