Thursday Open Thread: Teen Entrepreneurs Week

August 20, 2015 by Miranda 275 Comments

Good Morning POU!

Today’s featured young, gifted and black teen is a fashion designer, author, motivational speaker…and not even in high school! Whew!

Essynce Moore

Essynce Moore has loved clothes for as long as she can remember. When she was 6, she began drawing designs in notebooks. Four years later, with the help of her mom, Essynce launched her own kids’ clothing line, Essynce Couture, LLC with the motto “a child’s passion for fashion.” The sixth grader designs each piece of clothing, buys the fabric, and then sends it off to a tailor to be sewn together. “It’s really fun to see it all come off the paper,” she says. She has showcased at both NY Fashion Weeks and Atlanta Kids Fashion Week while also ripping the runway.

Essynce sells her designs through her website. She hopes to inspire other kids to pursue their dreams. “A lot of people think, ‘When I grow up, I want to be . .” she says. “Well, why not start now?”

Essynce Couture also has a natural body product line for children, tweens, and teens labeled “Wynk” by Essynce Couture and she owns Essynce Couture University (ECU) where she teaches entrepreneurship/motivational speaking and facilitates at different colleges and workshops to other children, tweens, and teens.

Earlier this year, now 13 years of age, Essynce released her first book, the newly released 6th Grade Middle School Chronicles.

She announced a book tour that is taking her across the nation to meet with press, media, investors, sponsors, and other children who are interested in meeting her and learning all about the new book. 6th Grade Middle School Chronicles is geared to like-minded tweens and tells the story of Moore’s 6th grade year. The story is a tale of drama, secrets, heartbreak, and new friends that grabs readers’ attention with juicy gossip and the inherent perspective of a pre-teen’s day-to-day life.

Her website, Essynce Couture, LLC, promotes education and encourages children of all ages to upload their report cards, certificates and other rewards to one of its social sites. In return and as a kudos for all children, each will receive an Essynce Couture exclusive accommodation acknowledging their dedication for a job well done.
